We specifically design your solar system for rental property package. This means it is different to the system you would design for a home owner occupier.

Investor Solar Solutions solar systems include sophisticated monitoring which enables us to charge tenants for the value of the solar energy they benefited from each month.

• Tenants have full access to the solar energy produced by the system
• Through the monitoring system we can measure how much solar energy they consumed over the month and how much feed-in credit they received on their electricity bill for unused solar energy.
• We invoice the tenant on your behalf for a portion of the money they saved off their electricity account because of the solar for rental property system.

Yes they do.

There will be times when your solar for rental property system can’t generate enough electricity to meet the homes demand e.g. during cloudy weather or at night. It’s during these times that the property will draw electricity from the grid.

Also, if your solar system doesn’t have a battery then the grid will supply the home during non-daylight hours. 

Unlike other companies, the solar for rental property system we install belongs 100% to you. This means all of the revenues it generates are yours to keep.

We charge a small fee of $60 + GST per annum. This covers the cost of generating and sending monthly invoices and quarterly value reports to your property manager, along with system monitoring and maintenance requirements identification.

A home owners system is a designed to reduce the cost of the monthly electricity bill so we would design a solar system based on the energy consumption of the household. A rental property solar system is designed to generate income for the landlord and maximise their ROI so we need to balance maximum production capacity, estimated household usage, and cost of system. 

Secondly, we use additional items like sophisticated web based monitoring which is different to the standard wifi monitoring home owner occupiers use. Our monitoring means you can measure and charge tenants for consumption.

Thirdly, we specify high quality materials. Our solar for rental property systems are designed to last at least 15 years so we use high quality materials whose manufactures warranty their products for up to 25 years. This gives us the best chance to have a maintenance free, long lasting solar system.

We prefer customers to spend a little more up front to buy quality, knowing that it will last the test of time and perform as promised.

No this isn’t necessary. We can arrange a solar for rental property system at any time including –

• during the construction of your property,
• before a new property is tenanted,
• between tenancies of an existing property or
• midway though a tenancy agreement.

We recommend your property manager adds the energy supply details we provide to your existing tenancy agreement, so no additional contracts are required.

If you have an existing lease agreement with the tenant it’s a good idea to have the tenant sign on to the new arrangement in writing as soon as the solar for rental property system is up and running.

This depends on:

• how much electricity your tenants use over the life of the solar for rental property system
• the feed-in tariff paid by electricity retailers in you state
• the type of system you choose to install. We provide options of systems so that we can meet all customers budgets and needs. 

Usually it’s less than 5 years and the systems last at least 15 years.
